Sweet Corn Hybrid Development

     Dr. Taweesak Pulam, a well-known plant geneticist who has spent fifteen years on the development of tropical sweet corn varieties, supervises sweet corn hybrid development. Dr.Taweesak is Managing Director of Sweet Seeds Co., Ltd., the varietal development company, and Sweet Corn Products Co., Ltd., an affiliate of RKI and the commercialization company for sweet corn varieties. Dr. Taweesak uses his field research station in Saraburi province for testing 500-1,000 new varieties a year from which he selects only few as the foundation for the development of additional new hybrids.

The most notable features of ATS, our current and well-known super sweet corn hybrid, are the strength of its stalks, which are short in length, and its deep root structure, which prevents the stalks from bending and falling easily. It is highly resistant to insects and is highly productive. Thick coverage protects the cob from infestation.

ATS has been tested and certified as Non-genetically modified organisms (NON-GMO) as well.
